Si-Pin Detector — Element Range and Limitations

The Pi900E's Si-Pin detector accurately measures mid-range and heavy elements from Potassium (K) to Uranium (U), including the critical industrial elements iron, chromium, nickel, copper, molybdenum, lead, tin, silver and tungsten.

Important Technical Note: In Si-Pin detector based HH-EDXRF systems, light elements such as magnesium (Mg), aluminium (Al), silicon (Si), phosphorus (P) and sulphur (S) cannot be reliably measured under standard atmospheric conditions, as their characteristic X-ray energies are too low and are absorbed before reaching the detector. For applications requiring light element determination, please refer to our SDD-based models with thin-window technology (EulerX 900S).
