BeScan Lab Stability Analyzer
BeScan Series
The BeScan series stability analyzer assesses dispersions based on SMLS technology to determine their stability. Currently, there is one model in the BeScan series, which is the BeScan Lab. In the BeScan Lab, a single optical setup consists of an LED source, a forward detector, and a backward detector. This setup scans the sample cell vertically to detect changes in transmitted and backscattered signals. Any instability in the samples is evident in the corresponding spectra in the analysis software. Additionally, BeScan Lab allows for measuring the mean particle size, testing temperature trends, and conducting hydrodynamic and optical analysis.
What is SMLS?
SMLS stands for Static Multiple Light Scattering, which is an advanced optical analytical method that utilizes light scattering to analyze dispersions. By observing how a light beam scatters when it encounters particles suspended in a medium, SMLS can determine the size and concentration of these particles. This technique is non-intrusive, fast, and extremely sensitive, allowing for quick data collection without altering the original state of the sample. The non-destructive nature of SMLS is especially advantageous for examining samples with dense particle populations.
In addition to measuring particle size and concentration, SMLS technology provides insights into the dynamics of the sample, uncovering crucial details about particle movement, aggregation status, and particle interactions.
